SUMMARY
Develops
and maintains computer program applications for the Information Systems
department using Active Server Pages and databases.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Develops dynamic Internet and intranet applications
using Microsoft Visual Studio, C#, JavaScript, Dynamic HTML, Oracle 9i-10g, and SQL Server 2005
2. Participates in the design process to
implement information systems solutions
3. Maintains high levels of communication with
clients to achieve desire results
4. Identifies new technology to provide dynamic
content on the web
5. Studies and documents current operating
procedures and makes recommendations for improvement
6. Monitors and maintains existing production
systems to ensure that up-time and performance requirements are being satisfied
7. Works as a team member, in shared office
spaces and with sensitive and confidential information
8. Stays current on trends and developments in
web applications
9. Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The

1. Good working knowledge of Windows 2003 and IIS 6
2. Minimum 6 months experience in web
development with an emphasis on Dynamic Content and Database Applications
3. Proficiency in HTML, Dynamic HTML, ASP.NET
2.0+, SQL Server and JavaScript
4. Ability to work under pressure and to
successfully complete tasks despite limited resources and rigid deadlines
5. Must have a valid Texas driver's license, means
of transportation and proof of liability insurance for travel to other campuses
within the district
6. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively
with a diverse, multi-cultural college population
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
8. Demonstrated commitment to the community
college philosophy of education
EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
*Bachelor's
degree preferred; Associates degree in Computer Science or Computer Information
Systems, minimum
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability
to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of
faculty, staff or administrators of organization.
