Title: ACCOUNTANT
(Student Payments)

SUMMARY
Maintains
and reconciles general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts, including cash,
student accounts receivables and accounts payables; manages department for
student receivables/collections.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Manages and reconciles general ledger
2. Manages and reconciles subsidiary ledger
accounts, including cash, student accounts receivables and accounts payables
3. Develops and implements internal control
procedures pertaining to student billing and receivables
4. Prepares journal entries and budget changes
5. Assists in preparation of financial reports
and management reports
6. Prepares bank reconciliations
7. Maintains fixed assets inventory
8. Manages, records and reconciles NSF
9. Prepares tuition and fee revenue monthly
reports
9. Assists other staff members with accounting
projects when necessary
10.
Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS To

5. At least three years accounting experience,
preferably in a higher education institution
6. Proficient with ten key by touch
7. Security-sensitive position; subject to
background checks

EDUCATION
and/or EXPERIENCE
BBA
degree with a major in Accounting
Three
years experience with a financial records system, preferably the
SCT/Information Associates Software
LANGUAGE
SKILLS
Ability
to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional
journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business
correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from
groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
REASONING
ABILITY
Ability
to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in
situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a
variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
