Job Title:                                 NURSING LAB CLINICAL COORDINATOR

Department:                            Nursing Allied Health

Reports To:                             Program Chairs

FLSA Status:                           Exempt

Salary:                                    $36,360/year minimum

Starting date:             Immediately

Closing date:              Open until filled.  Screening to begin September 6, 2005

 

SUMMARY

Coordinates all nursing labs used by faculty and students for associate degree nursing (ADN), vocational nursing (VN), and patient care technology (PCA programs.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1.   Works collaboratively with nursing program chairs, instructors, and students

2.   Staffs and supervises all nursing labs in accordance with budget restraints and manages continuous purchase order requisition process

3.   Manages the budget, prepares fiscal reports, submits purchase requisitions, and any/all reports related to nursing lab departmental expenditures

4.   Coordinates all nursing lab instructional activities with program faculty and students

5.   Manages safe learning environment for faculty and students

6.   Manages nursing lab equipment inventory and supplies including advanced simulation manikins, simulators and computer interactive equipment

7.   Trains and supervises faculty and students in use of nursing lab equipment and simulators

8.   Promotes positive morale and teamwork within the department, consistent with the College's mission, philosophy and goals

9.   Performs other duties as assigned

Supervises nursing lab personnel

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor's degree preferred; Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing required

*Nursing clinical experience required

*Coordinator or manager experience desired

*Experience in higher education preferred

*Experience with advanced medical equipment, procedures in health care high risk setting preferred

 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of students, faculty, administration, and staff.
