Job Title:                    MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Department:             Operations

Reports To:                Coordinator

FLSA Status:             Nonexempt

Salary:                        Commensurate with education and experience

Starting date:             Immediately

Closing date:              Open until filled.  Screening to begin December 15, 2008

 

SUMMARY

Ensures efficient operation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems operate properly.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1.   Ensures efficient operation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems through  periodic inspection and maintenance using established procedures, performance specifications and available equipment

2.   Cleans, services, oils and/or adjusts equipment to include aligning and repacking pumps, replacing belts and changing filters

3.   Repairs and/or replaces defective equipment to include compressors, magnetic starters, door closers, faucets, seals, door hardware, switches etc.

4.   Operates energy management control system computer

5.   Troubleshoots programmable controls, sensors and other electronic devices

6.   Notes amount of time spend and work performed relative to specific work requests

7.   Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Certificate of completion, Associate's degree in HVAC, preferred.  Technician  Certificate, required.

Experience in air conditioning, refrigeration and heating is required

Must have a valid Texas operator's license and reliable transportation

Must be insurable under STC's insurance policy for driving

Two years related work experience, required

Technician Certificate, required

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
