SUMMARY
Designs, develops and
maintains computer program applications for the Information systems Department
using ASP.NET, Java and databases.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES include the
following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Designs and develops dynamic Internet and
intranet applications using Microsoft Visual Studio, C#, Java, JavaScript,
Dynamic HTML., Oracle 9i-10g
2. Leads and/or participates in the design
process to implement information systems solutions
3. Maintains high levels of communication with
clients to achieve desired results
4. Identifies new technology to provide dynamic
content on the web
5. Evaluates current operating procedures and
implements solutions to improve those procedures
6. Configures new production systems and
evaluates existing systems to ensure that up-time and performance requirements
are being satisfied
7. Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS To
perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each

1. Good working knowledge with Windows,
2003/2008 Servers, IIS 6/7, Apache and Tomcat
2. Minimum 18 months experience in web
development with an emphasis on Dynamic Content and Database Applications
3. Proficiency in HTML, Dynamic HTML, JSP,
ASP.NET 2.0+, Web Services, Oracle9i-10g and JavaScript
4. Ability to work well under pressure and to
successfully complete tasks despite limited resources and rigid deadlines
5. Must have valid TX driver's license, provide
means of transportation and proof of liability insurance to travel throughout
the district
6. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively
with a diverse, multi-cultural college community
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills
8. Demonstrated commitment to the community
college philosophy of education
9. Keeps current on trends and development in
web applications
EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
*Bachelor's degree
preferred; Minimum Associate degree in Computer Science or Computer Information
Systems
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and
interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of
customers or employees of organization.
