Job Title:               DATA MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR

Department:          Financial Aid

Reports To:           Associate Director of Financial Aid

FLSA Status:         Nonexempt

Salary:                   Commensurate with Education & Experience

Starting Date:       Immediately

Closing Date:        Open until filled.  Screening to begin September 7, 2009

 

SUMMARY

The Data Management Coordinator is responsible for supervising the technical operations of the Student Financial Services Office to include the development and management of new automated systems, web based systems, document imaging workflow, and reporting processes.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1.   Provides assistance in managing all information processing for financial aid programs, including data exchange with external agencies, and to assist with coordination of computer, imaging, and internet processes across all campuses

2.   Assists in keeping department in compliance by keeping Banner Financial Aid current with the most current releases of regulations

3.   Assists Student Financial Services with federal and state submissions in order to meet all deadlines

4.   Works closely with the department coordinators and the Associate Director to keep the department in compliance with all federal and state programs; works closely with the IT department and SCT to keep all Banner financial aid issues current

5.   Assists in coordinating automated packaging and assists with setting standards for manual packaging, develops reports related to information or office program management and acts as a liaison between IT and Student Financial Services

6.   Uses independent judgment, defines needs, prioritizes activities, and identifies resources to assist students with financial resources

7.   Interacts with key administrators, faculty, and staff members throughout the district to facilitate the financial aid process within the confines of federal and state regulations

Supervises staff as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

*Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred

*Experience in a higher educational financial aid setting required

*Minimum three years in data management with emphasis on SCT Banner knowledge

*Supervisory experience

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of students, parents, employees, and the general public.
