SUMMARY
Serves as the financial aid
representative to community service agencies to identify and facilitate the
financial aid application process for students.
Will monitory financial aid events and activities and will perform a
variety of tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES include the
following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Serves as a liaison between STC Student
Financial Aid Services and are high schools, between the office of Student
Financial Services and other college departments, parents and other outside
agencies
2. Keeps up with all federal and state programs
pertaining to student financial services
3. Assists area high school with FAFSA
applications, College Nights, and parent events
4. Assists in providing training services for
area high school counselors
5. Counsels and advises students regarding
their financial options and responsibilities
6. Performs frequent liaison activity and
promotes a positive public image to parents and student groups, and works closely with area school districts
7. Manages pre-claims assistance efforts such
as telephone and letter campaigns
8. Supervises and performs statistical analyses
for internal and external reporting
9. Interprets and implements regulations set
forth by DOE and state guarantee agencies
10. Performs other duties
as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be

13. Bilingual,
English-Spanish preferred
EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
*Bachelor's degree
required; Master's degree preferred
*Post-secondary experience
with emphasis in student support services and financial aid preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and
interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak
effectively before groups of students, parents, general public, or employees of
organization.
