SUMMARY
Performs
secretarial duties for division faculty by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties
may be assigned.
1. Composes, or transcribes from rough draft,
correspondence, bulletins, memorandums, and other material.
2. Greets students and visitors, determines
nature of business, and directs visitors to destination.
3. Answers questions for faculty, staff and
students.
4. Talks with student encountering scheduling
problems and resolves problem or directs student to the appropriate advisor or
faculty member.
5. Answers telephone to provide information,
take message, or transfer calls.
6. Orders and dispenses school supplies to
faculty and division.
7. Makes copies for faculty.
8. Process travel vouchers for faculty. Makes travel arrangements and determines per
diem for faculty travel.
9. Types semester schedules for department
chairpersons.
10.
Performs other duties appropriate to division/department needs.
QUALIFICATIONS To
perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each

EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Certificate
of Completion or 30 college hours.
LANGUAGE
SKILLS
Ability
to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple
correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small
group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the
organization.
REASONING
ABILITY
Ability to
apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written
or oral instructions. Ability
to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized
situations.
