Job Title:               LEAD CUSTODIAN III   

Department:          Operations

Reports To:           Assistant Director of Operations

FLSA Status:         Nonexempt

Salary:                   Commensurate with Education & Experience

Starting Date:       Immediately

Closing Date:        Open until filled.  Screening to begin September 1, 2009

 

SUMMARY

Maintains high standards of cleanliness and service by inspecting work to ensure conformance with established standards.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1.   Maintains high standards of cleanliness and service by inspecting work to ensure standards are met, and take corrective action if necessary

2.   Conducts training on equipment and operational duties for new and existing employees.

3.   Ensures facilities are secured and opened at the appropriate times.

4.   Reports all necessary building or equipment repair requirements for assigned facilities to operations management

5.   Supervises moving and/or assembly of furniture.

6.   Ensures that all custodial equipment is in good repair.

7.   Manages schedules for assigned personnel.

8.   Assists other custodians with janitorial and other work.

9.   Maintains security of all janitorial supplies and equipment inventory of designated location; requests all required supplies and equipment

10. Reports all accidents or other incidents to operations management

11. Informs supervisor when arriving and/or leaving designated location.

12. Sets up areas for functions on campuses

13. Ensures security for keys to assigned facilities.

14. Ensures positive flow of information to staff and co-workers.

15. Conducts Safety Training for new and existing personnel.

16. Conducts training for Lead Custodians on operational duties and supervision at multiple campuses.

17. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises assigned personnel at multiple campuses; coordinates employees' schedules.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

*High School Diploma or GED required.  Additional education preferred.

*Minimum of two years experience in similar work setting or related field.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students, customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
