Job Title:                    LEAD CUSTODIANS (5)

Campus:                     Pecan, Tech Center, NAH, and Mid-Valley

Department:               Facilities-Maintenance and Operations

Reports To:                Custodial Supervisor

FLSA Status:              Nonexempt

Salary:                        Competitive salary based on education and experience      

Starting Date:             Immediately

Closing Date:              Open until filled.  

 

SUMMARY

Maintains high standards of cleanliness and service by inspecting work to ensure conformance with established standards.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1.   Maintain high standards of cleanliness and service by inspecting work to ensure standards are met; if standards are not met, will investigate reason and take corrective action

2.   Train new employees on duties and operation of equipment

3.   Ensures facilities are secured and opened at the appropriate times

4.   Reports all necessary building or equipment repair requirements for assigned facilities to Custodial or Maintenance Supervisor

5.   Supervise moving and/or assembly of furniture

6.   Ensure that all custodial equipment is in good repair

7.   Manages schedules for assigned personnel and inspects work to ensure conformance with established standards

8.   Assist other custodians with janitorial and other work

9.   Maintain security of all janitorial supplies and equipment inventory of designated location; requests all required supplies and equipment from Custodial Supervisor

10. Report all accidents or other incidents to Security Officer and next available supervisor

11. Inform supervisor when arriving and/or leaving designated location

12. Set up for special functions on campuses

13. Ensure security for keys to assigned facilities

14. Ensure positive flow of information to staff and co-workers

15. Perform other duties as assigned

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinates schedules and supervises assigned personnel

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED required.  Additional education preferred

Minimum of two years experience in similar work setting or related field

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students, customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
