SUMMARY
The
Director is responsible for the successful formulation and implementation of
systematic and timely institutional assessment and evaluation programs. The Director will measure organizational and
departmental progress toward the achievement of institutional mission,
strategic initiatives, and intended outcomes using statistical analysis and
current evaluative assessment techniques and best practices. The Director will be able to communicate
findings and recommendations for action in a clear and timely manner so as to
facilitate continuous, informed decision-making throughout the organization.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may
be assigned.
1. Coordinates the college's institutional
assessment and evaluation activities
2. Works collaboratively with faculty and staff
in the development, design and implementation of assessment and program
evaluation policies and studies
3. Analyzes and interprets institutional and
environmental data and performance measurements to aid college staff in
planning and data-based decision-making
4. Tracks and assesses the results of
institutional and academic initiatives for purposes of enhancing first-year
experiences, student retention, successful course and program completion,
transfer and job placement
5. Meets regularly with institutional
researchers, planners and content experts to validate findings and suggest new
directions of analysis and reporting
6. Be self-directed in formulating analytical
summaries, findings and recommendations for action and further study
7. Coordinates with the Director of Student
Learning Outcomes and Assessment in the Division of Academic Affairs on
assessment activities related to student learning outcomes
8. Serves as a member of the Institutional
Effectiveness team, incorporating sound, best practice evaluation and
assessment activities related to student learning outcomes
9. Serves on the Institutional Effectiveness
team, the Planning and Development Council and the Institutional Review Board
10.
Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

4. Demonstrated ability to build consensus
among diverse populations and work in a team environment
EDUCATION
and/or EXPERIENCE
*Master's
Degree in statistics, education, or a related field. Doctorate preferred
*At
least five years of experience in institutional research, statistical analysis
and evaluation or institutional effectiveness capacity in higher education
LANGUAGE
SKILLS
Ability
to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical data, financial
reports, and legal documents. Ability to
respond to common inquiries from faculty and administrators and regulatory
agencies. Ability to write reports in a
prescribed style and format. Ability to
effectively present information to top management and faculty.
